2022 was another year full of decking design innovation, new challenges, and successful projects. As we look forward to 2023, we recap the past year while gearing up for the new year ahead.

2022 Recap

In 2022, we helped our clients cross off their summertime inspection and chores checklists, checking your AC, examining your foundation, and inspecting your decks and fences for repair or replacement needs. We were happy to provide new and return clients with quality decks, front porches, stairs, and railings throughout 2022. In the new year, we’re excited for new, challenging designs that continue to help us grow, new innovations in decking accessories or additions, and more!

Recap

2023 Trends

Pergolas and gazebos have been soaring in popularity since the global pandemic as people seek to add year-round usability to their outdoor spaces. It’s a trend set to continue during 2023. Decking can be laid to a variety of heights depending on your garden’s shape and size. Fun, unique decking is a great way to highlight your garden, landscaping, and hardscaping. Other decking trends we’re excited for in 2023 include drawing inspiration from nature for decking colors, all seasons decks, outdoor living maximalism, and focusing on maintenance for bespoke decking that’s not easy to replace. Sometimes it’s better to opt for a maintenance service than to carry out a full replacement of a deck you love. Depending on what materials were used and the overall condition of the existing structure, you may be able to salvage the entire deck and bring it back to life without the financial or time costs expected of a new design and installation project.

Thank you to all of our clients who supported us through 2022. From the Hen-House Decking team, we’re fortunate for your business and excited for what the new year will bring for us. From new decking designs that transform your landscaping to new trends  that transform your outdoors into multifunctional and multipurpose spaces, we’ll be there every step of the way.
